We have successfully completed the first batch of post-smolt from our Hausvik facility, with over 74 tonnes of biomass delivered to Hellesund Fiskeoppdrett this past Sunday.
Built and Completed Production in Just Over 13 Months
From the start of construction in April 2025 to Sunday's commercial delivery, the EFC mRAS module at Hausvik was constructed from the ground up — and completed a successful full post-smolt production cycle — in just over 13 months in total. That timeline is a direct result of our standardized, modular approach: no custom engineering, a predictable build process, and a system designed for efficient and robust operations.
Biology That Sets a New Benchmark
The post-smolt was delivered to our customer in outstanding condition with great operational and biological results:
- Start weight of 110g and average weight at transfer of 1.1kg
- Strong growth well above growth tables, at 8.5°C average temperature
- FCR of 0.86 — great efficiency for land-based post-smolt production
- Low mortality rate of 1.6%
- High level of general fish welfare and quality, verified through regular veterinary visits and tests
Stable Operations from Day One
The module has performed exactly as designed throughout the full production cycle:
- Uninterrupted production from smolt to delivery — no downtime
- The EFC Control system delivering real-time visibility and operational flexibility
- Flexible module design — servicing carried out without disrupting production
- Energy consumption of 3.3 kWh per kg across the whole production. Power consumption was higher in the ramp-up phase and reduced to 2.5 kWh per kg through optimization and higher fish densities
- Stable and healthy water quality levels throughout production
